Italian Pastina

When you’re feeling under the weather or just need something warm, soothing, and nourishing, this pastina is the recipe I reach for. A lot of people online call it “Italian penicillin soup” — even though none of us in Italy actually call it that 😂 — but the sentiment is there. It’s simple, comforting, and exactly what you want on days when you need a little extra care.

You know it's a good recipe when it calls for 6 garlic cloves - it works! Perfect for winter cold season

Hi Gigi. I assume the water stays with the vegetables as it’s a specific amount? Wouldn’t describe it as a puree as it’s much funnier than that but there’s no mention of draining the water off. Thx

Hi Claire! Yes, the water stays with the vegetables, that’s the broth 😊 And thank you for flagging that, you’re absolutely right. That was a translation slip on my side. Appreciate the feedback! xx

Another family favorite. My husband told me to keep it on the short list! This was perfect for my teenager who is fighting a cold in the middle of his basketball season. Highly recommend!

The 'short list'! That makes me so happy! There’s nothing like a warming meal to help fight off a cold. I hope he’s back to his basketball season in no time💚 Thanks for the amazing feedback! x

It's a freezing cold, wet night and I wanted something warm and comforting. This was perfect. Very yummy and I love how creamy it turns out without cream. And as I'm eating it , I know I'm getting all kinds of nutrition in me and it's warming me up.
