Spicy Tu-Nah

Chickpeas moonlighting as tuna - this is what happens when a food processor, celery and a jar of capers team up to trick your taste buds. Briny gherkins, a punch of dijon, and nori for that unmistakable sea-salty tang come together in a creamy, chunky mash with just enough sriracha heat to keep things interesting. Scoop it onto toast, into a sandwich, or straight from the jar - I won't judge.

Step 1

Roughly chop the gherkins and cut the celery and red onion into a few chunks; they'll get broken down further, but smaller pieces help the blade catch evenly.

Easy to make. The taste is very fishy, so if you like that this is a good recipe to try. I made a homemade mayo based on silken tofu. It worked just fine.
